Specify and write test cases, creates, modify and update existing tests, write and maintain test scripts
Perform functional, application, regression and performance testing in manual and/or automated test environments and investigate possible causes of problems
Create test plans, participate in defect management and testing metrics
Apply standard techniques and procedures and comply with the company's overall development and testing processes
Work in a variety of computing environments: Windows, Linux, VM’s, Cloud.
Performs bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
Works under the general supervision of a Testing manager
BS in Engineering(any field), Computer Science, or related field with 2 years of experience, or MS with no experience
Working experience in general software testing, test automation & web UI testing required.
Good understanding and previous experience in python programming & browser-based products.
Technical knowledge and experience with Python or any other programming language through previous work experience.
Problem solving oriented.
Ability to take initiative, behave with integrity and respond maturely to direction
Ability to establish good working relationships with Development, Testing, software quality assurance and support staff.
Experience in a large-scale commercial software testing and verification environment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team
Previous experience in testing automation of server/client-based products.
Previous testing experience in Cloud environment and browser-based products.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to review and analyze requirements in order to produce test strategy and test cases.

Summary / Role Purpose
The R&D Verification Engineer II joins the System and Platform business unit to conduct software testing of ANSYS applications such as Solutions and/or Cloud based products. This role assesses how well the product meets customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability and ensures that product requirements and quality standards are satisfied. The role works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical specialists on product issues. The planning focus of staff at this level is short to medium term. Individuals in this position usually report to a Senior Test Engineer or Testing Manager.
